Conflicts are spectral and solutions rarely decisive. Ideas are aplenty and choices rarely easy. Yet it is fascinating for both actor and ringside viewer, each affected by the other and longing to outdo/challenge the other. This blog looks at such space/s in our public and private lives, which are at once political as much as they are personal, and the intersections of the two and the trilemmas they produce.

In my 38 years as a journalist, one has tread many a path and worn many a hat but my pet bugbear remains national security and defence. With that as the focus this blog will also feature a range of issues, with ffashion, food and lifestyle at the other end of the spectrum.
